How to Get an OpenRouter API Key

Go to openrouter.ai and click Sign In in the top-right corner.

On the sign-in page, choose one of the available authentication methods:

• Google account
• GitHub account
• MetaMask wallet

No credit card is required to create an account. You can start using free models immediately.

Once signed in, go to the API keys page at:

You can also reach this page from your account menu by navigating to Settings > Keys.

On the keys page, click Create Key.

1. Enter a descriptive name for the key (e.g., "Snolly").
2. Optionally set a credit limit to control spending.
3. Click create. Your API key will be displayed.

OpenRouter offers 25+ free models that work without any payment, including Google Gemini, Meta Llama, DeepSeek, and more. You can start using Snolly with these right away.

To access premium models like Claude (Anthropic), GPT-4 (OpenAI), or others, you need to add credits:

1. Go to the credits/billing section in your OpenRouter account settings.
2. Add funds using a credit card or cryptocurrency.
3. There is no minimum spend. You pay per token used.

OpenRouter charges a 5.5% platform fee on top of the model provider's published rates. All pricing is transparent and shown in the model catalog.

1. Sign in to Snolly and go to Settings > API Keys.
2. Paste your OpenRouter API key in the OpenRouter API Key field.
3. Click Save API Keys.

That's it. Snolly will now use your OpenRouter key to access AI models. You can monitor your usage and costs in your OpenRouter dashboard at any time.
